Running in the Rain
Posted by Stéphanie Noël on October 23, 2022 at 7:07 amWhat is your favorite gear for running in the rain? I usually just run inside if it’s raining but I tried it for the first time and had sooo much fun! What do you do for a rain coat? I wore my normal rain jacket but got pretty hot. Wore a hat with a brim to keep the water out of my eyes.. what am I missing?

And what do you do with your shoes after when they’re all wet? How do you dry them out quickly enough to run again the next day?

For the shoes thing, I guess it depends where you live. In Utah, I can just leave them in the open in the house and they’re usually dry enough the next day, but utah is a desert so 🤷♀️ Use a hairdryer? Haha

I’m in MA so in the summer it’s often too humid to dry anything, and I’m hesitant to use my hair dryer because my brother tried this once and ended up melting the hair dryer!I spent too much money on that thing lol! I wonder if they’d be ok in the dryer 🤔

Oh cool, I’ve never heard of that! Where did you find it? I wish I had a fireplace 😫

Honestly, depending on the temperature, I usually don’t worry about a raincoat or anything. I just get wet. 🤷♀️ I usually shower after a run anyway, so I don’t care about wet clothes. And the rain feels good anyway and cools me down.

I could do that in the summer but now that it’s fall it’s too cold to get soaked 🙁

That’s fair. When it gets cold in Utah, if it precipitates, it’s snow, and I just wear long sleeves, hat, gloves, etc. I don’t worry about getting wet because, again, I take a hot shower right after.

It rains a lot where I live. Honestly, I do a lot of treadmill during the rainy season. When I do venture out, the only thing I might add is a hat. I get too hot if I wear a rain jacket.

Sounds like I need to just get ok with getting rained on lol I’ll work on it 🌧️
